It is almost inevitable as the end of August approaches to hear the chatter amongst which making polite conversation may not only involve discussing the weather, but also the time.
“I don’t know where this summer has gone” or “How is it September already?” to even “Soon we’ll be having to think about Christmas.”
Indeed; whilst the long bright days are on the homeward straight, it may be appropriate to frame the old cliché – ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ and use that as a possible explanation as to why summer has gone so quickly... at least it can be held true for those who have spent the summer months in Marbella.
Synonymous with sun, sea and sand, Spain provides holidaymakers with guaranteed sunshine and good food. Though, this cosmopolitan town on the southern eastern coast of the country seems to offer something its neighboring towns can’t quite compete with… in more familiar terms, one might say it goes the extra mile.
Marbella has the ability to offer a relaxed atmosphere whilst still maintaining that ‘buzz’ of life. Perhaps the variety of restaurants that line the Paseo Maritimo keeps the flow of people going as they waver from one to the other treating themselves to a fruity cocktail or some tasty tapas. For the sporty kind, not only can you find the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol here in Marbella, but there is also the opportunity to enjoy some water sports.
Indeed, the last few days of August often serve as the time in which we reflect on the summer months- laughing at memories, looking back on photographs and going through bottles of after-sun in an attempt to maintain the sun tan for as long as possible. Here at Stand Inmobiliario it is no different as we reflect on the summer months but in a business context. Statistics have shown that it has been a record year for tourism in Spain and tourist spending has increased. This increase in expenditure has fed through to the property market and it is the UK, Germany, France and the Nordic nations (who are not only major players in international tourism in Spain) but who dominate the property market when it comes to sales to overseas residents. This has been thanks to improving economies in the UK and the Nordic countries in particular, and a relatively weak Euro which have contributed to make Spanish property even more affordable.
